OLOMOUC TRAINING CENTRE LTD. (OTC)
Experience/Expertise:
Olomouc Training Centre s.r.o. /Ltd./ is a regional educational and management
development company founded in 1991 in the Moravian town of Olomouc. Since
the very beginning OTC has been instrumental in transferring major know-how
projects in English from abroad and introducing them to the local market.
E.g. in 1995 –1998 OTC served as a principal Czech consortium partner
of UK companies transferring the biggest Know-How Fund project in the
Czech Republic. In 1998-2001 OTC coordinated the Leonardo da Vinci Programme
Training English /the development of an advanced professional language
training programme/ gaining in this process new skills and knowledge important
for the future development of ICT-based distance learning programmes,
such as CD-based Elementary Business English Skills developed for regional
Chamber of Commerce.These activities have significantly enhanced OTC’s
organizational and linguistic skills as well as the relevant experience
of its staff and contracted trainers and consultants. With five permanent
employees and a branch office in Hlinsko, Eastern Bohemia, OTC has some
thirty top Moravian and Czech contracted trainers and consultants now.
Olomouc Training Centre s.r.o. is recognized by several Czech Ministries,
the Czech National Training Fund, The British Know-How Fund and others.
It is a founding member of the Czech Marketing Institute in Prague and
the national Association of Managerial Education and Training Institutions,
CAMETIN, in Prague, Association of Management Trainers and Consultants,
ATKM, in Brno and a member of Regional Chamber of Commerce in Olomouc.
Role:
The combined language skills and the experience with the development of
ICT-based distance learning professional English programmes as well as
the hands on knowledge of the industry needs will be essential for the
programme ELCIT in which OTC will be responsible for the collation of
the multilanguage database, its division into modules, co-operation with
the partners in reworking of the scenarios, and supervising of the process
of the software development of the specific modules.
