Main aims of the project are to develop (See also
section E.1.4.2 Final Products Description):
a) ICT based specific work-related professional English language learning modules for vocational training schools instructors in the following vocational fields: locksmiths, bricklayers, hairdressers, and seamstresses
b) an Internet accessible format of the ITC based professional English language learning modules for vocational training schools instructors
c) a set of self-study hardcopy toolkits with key terminology and phrases designed for on the job training by the target group of instructors
d) a self-evaluation logbook for comprehensive self-assessment and feedback
e) a model and methodology for continuous professional English language skills assessment
f) guidelines for the use of the above
The project will develop all the proposed products to be used by the instructors in the initial vocational training schools sector.
The objective is to produce an efficient tool that will be applicable to any vocational training institution in any European country. The project partnership has five potential language settings (English, Czech, Slovak, Portugal, and Spanish) to use as the basis for development of the selected professional subjects language skills of the instructors and continuous achievement assessment.
They will be used for the mini-pilot and the full pilot to assess the transferability of the model. The full pilot will be conducted in all partner countries of the project, to permit evaluation of the products' applicability in different linguistic and initial vocational education contexts. The size, composition and structure of the partnership reflects the project's aims. It is the intention to develop a model and products that, beyond the life of the current project, may be adapted for application in other language and vocational education settings.
